Sun, moisture, and regular outdoor exposure can wear down fences and decks quickly, especially in Texas conditions. Faded color, dry wood, and uneven surfaces are often signs that your outdoor wood needs care. Rather than replacing materials that still have life left in them, we help Corpus Christi homeowners renew and protect their wood with professional staining built for long-lasting performance.
As a licensed and insured staining company, Stain Your Fence uses a proprietary acrylic wood stain designed to soak into the wood instead of simply coating the surface. This helps reduce peeling, creates a more even appearance, and extends the life of the finish. Through a clear process and experienced application, our team restores fences and decks with a clean, consistent look that feels protected, refreshed, and well cared for.
Stain Your Fence is a family-owned staining company with years of hands-on experience helping homeowners, businesses, and property managers throughout Texas. Since 2007, our team has completed thousands of staining projects focused on improving and protecting fences, decks, and other outdoor wood structures with dependable workmanship and consistent results.
With more than 30,000 completed jobs, staining is not something we do on the side. It is the foundation of our work. That experience shapes the way we prepare surfaces, choose stain products, and apply finishes intended to perform over time. Homeowners rely on us for honest pricing, reliable service, and results that hold up.
The right process can make a noticeable difference in how a stained surface looks and how long the finish lasts. We follow a proven, step-by-step staining process on every project to help prevent blotchy color, missed spots, and early wear, with careful attention given to prep work and precision.
Each project starts with an on-site walkthrough so we can evaluate the condition of the wood, look for boards that may need replacement, and talk through expectations. We review available stain colors together and make adjustments on-site when needed so the finished color matches the approved selection before staining begins.
Before any stain is applied, we clean the surfaces thoroughly to remove dirt, mildew, and buildup from outdoor exposure. Proper cleaning helps the stain absorb into the wood evenly and bond correctly instead of remaining on top of the surface.
We apply stain in two layers to create even coverage and encourage deeper penetration. During the application process, our acrylic stain can be blended as needed to create a uniform appearance across the full structure and match the color chosen during the consultation.
Corpus Christi homeowners choose Stain Your Fence when fences, decks, and outdoor surfaces begin to show signs of age, fading, or weathering. After years of work across Texas, we understand how sun, heat, and moisture can wear down wood and concrete sooner than expected. With the right stain and careful application, many outdoor surfaces can be restored instead of replaced.
Stain Your Fence applies a proprietary staining product developed through years of experience in Texas climates. Our process helps refresh faded wood and concrete, protect newer surfaces, and keep outdoor features looking clean and maintained for years to come. Our before-and-after results show what proper staining can do, and scheduling a consultation is the next step for homeowners ready to improve their outdoor spaces.

Elizabeth prepared me for what to expect and answered all of my questions. When Jose arrived, he gave his expert advice on the stain color and helped me pick the perfect color! Thank God for him speaking up and not just letting me stain my fence a color I would’ve regretted! They cleaned up my fence and made sure not to stain anything but the fence. They protected our neighbor’s property from the spray, and made sure to evenly cover our entire fence. And that was a lot of work because we have a corner lot! Jose even gave me more advice at the end to make sure I maintain the fence as long as possible. People were asking him for his card so you know what that means!! See ya again soon, Jose! Is sealing the same as staining?
Sealing and staining are similar, but they are not exactly the same. A sealer is usually clear and mainly helps block moisture. Stain also helps with moisture protection, but it adds color and helps defend the wood from sun damage. In Texas heat, stain is often the stronger choice because it protects against both moisture and UV exposure, not rain alone.
Does the color of the stain affect how much protection it provides?
Yes, stain color can affect the level of protection. Darker or more pigmented stains typically provide more defense against the sun because the pigments work much like sunscreen for the wood. Clear or lighter stains can still help repel moisture, but they may require more frequent reapplication when a fence or deck receives heavy direct sunlight. The best color often depends on the look you prefer and how much sun exposure the surface gets.
Can stain fix wood that is already rotting or warped?
Stain can help prevent future damage, but it cannot repair wood that is already rotting, badly warped, or structurally compromised. Soft, cracked, twisted, or damaged boards usually need to be replaced before staining begins. During the initial walkthrough, we identify these areas so repairs can be addressed first and the final stained finish looks smoother and lasts longer.
Do I need to stain a brand-new fence?
Yes, a new fence can benefit greatly from staining once the wood has had proper time to dry. Without protection, new wood can absorb moisture, fade, crack, or warp under the Texas sun. Staining early helps block water, reduce board movement, and keep the fence looking more uniform as it ages, which can help reduce repair needs later.
